Kaiser Permanente -WTF
Health insurance is a must. I agree.............. but when is it a waste of money? Sign up with Kaiser Permanente and you're there. In our experience, there is no dedicated doctor for you and your family. You take whoever is there. I guess that's fine if they all communicated everything about every patient that came to see them, especially when the doctor you see tells you to come back the next day for a follow up.
We have a son who is a year and a half. Recently he was very sick and had a fever hitting the 104 degree mark, so my wife took him to the Doctor. She met with one of the physicians that was working that day. My wife was there for most of the day, which is fine since they ran a few tests. It was concluded that our son had Croup, but the fever was unusual to the doctor, so she told my wife to bring him back the next day to go over the test results. Ok fine. Thank you for all of your help doc. We appreciate it.
We show up the next day to find out that the doctor we saw the previous day was not working (she failed to tell my wife that) and that we are seeing a new. That's fine also, but when this new doctor walks in, he acts like it is our first visit. My first thought was, "did you read my sons file"? I guess it was his also because he excused himself to get the file. When he returned, he tells us that the doctor or whoever was supposed to enter the information into the system from the previous day did not enter it yet. The result - this guy had no information about our son's visit. He didn't even know what type of tests were performed on our son or what shots had been administered. And of course, the results of the tests, which was one of the main reasons why we returned, were not there. To make it even better, he starts telling us a couple of things that the doctor from the previous day should have done and how he would have done things differently, like send our son to the hospital for monitoring. Little stuff I guess. WTF!!!!
So since this guy is working on a blank file, he takes our son, plants his scope on him, probes his ears and tells us his fever has gone down, something we obviously already knew, and sends us on our way. Wonderful! WTF!!!!!
It's been almost a week and we have not heard an apology nor have we received any type of test result. Oh yeah.........our deductible of $30.00 per visit - -wasted. WTF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I guess that's how they "Thrive."
