At the toddler stage, your little one is going to want to do many things on their own or want to help with many things. For the dangerous ones like lighting the fireplace or cutting onions, you don't let him do and some good explanation would rememdy a fit. But as far as opening doors, putting on clothes, inserting the straw into the chocolate milk box, helping with the laundry, pretending to help with the dishes, etc......TRY not to get caught up with getting angry just because the simple task time is extended sometimes ten fold. With so little time in the day, I think most of us have been there and will continue to be there every now and again. But try to keep in mind that there is a little mind that needs to experience and learn.

To help you keep your car clean and save yourself from a temper explosion, empty the sand out of your child's shoes when you pick him up from preschool.

If your little one goes to preschool, try making the trip to the school fun and entertaining by asking him to help you find the school. On the way, point to other buildings and structures and ask him if that's the school. He will be amused that you don't know what the school looks like and he will make a mission out of finding it for you. You may get an added bonus of getting corrected. "No, that's the fire truck's house."

If you live in a multi-level unit or house, please remember to lock your toddler gates. Think back to try to remember how many times you've left it unlocked without incident. That's how many times you've gotten lucky.
